Marriage Ref settles couple's arguments

A new half-hour show aired last weekend called The Marriage Ref. This show allows disputing couples to allow a marriage ref and a panel of celebrities to help decide who is right.

Guest judges Tina Fey and Eva Longoria Parker joined show co-creator Jerry Seinfeld with host Tom Papa on last night's episode. There was one argument that was particularly amusing to me and the celebrities. The Rios are a newlywed couple and you can tell they are really  happy, except for an ongoing argument about 'the forbidden table'. The wife insists that the formal dining room table is to remain untouched other than thanksgiving. He is not allowed to sit there any other day. She explains the living and dining rooms are special places to be used rarely; the rest of the time they're sources of reflection and tranquility for her. He thinks if they have a table it should be used for card games or bingo. Of course this comment really enrages her so they turn it over to the Marriage Ref for an answer.

The host thinks it's pretty disgusting that the table settings are left out all year round and asks how much dust would accumulate after 364 days of not being used. Tina Fey thinks the wife is being absurd and recommends the husband tell his wife something equally absurd such as "Maybe tell her the bathroom is only for Easter". However, Eva Longoria admits she does the same thing. She has a formal dining area that is never used and it is beautiful.

The celebrities make their recommendations to the panel. The Marriage ref then decides that the wife is right and should have her sanctuary. The wife couldn't be happier!

What about the husband? He would probably like to have a sanctuary of his own if he wants to play cards or bingo with his friends. Hopefully there's another area of the house he could use. Unfortunately, it might be the garage but at least he can still play Bingo!
