The 2010 Winter Olympics are taking place in Vancouver, BC and the world is watching world-class athletes compete. What gets these top ranked athletes pumped for their competitions?
RollingStone.com recently asked a bunch of winter olympic athletes what songs are on their playlists to get them motivated for their competitions. Their answers were a bit surprising.
Louie Vito, who competed in the halfpipe for the US, enjoys a lot of hip-hop especially the song "Bingo" by Gucci Mane. Scotty Lago, who is also competing in the men's snowboarding halfpipe, rocks out to CCR, Guns n' Roses, and AC/DC. Fellow snowboarder, Gretchen Bleiler enjoys hip hop as well as bands like the Strokes, and The Offspring. Figure skater, Johnny Weir, enjoys Lady Gaga, Amy Winehouse, and Sam Cooke. That's quite the variety of music!
These athletes are at the top of their game and their playlists get them amped and motivated for their competitions. We look forward to watching them compete in the Winter Olympics and wish all the athletes in Vancouver the best of luck.
