A plumber named Cesar Rodriguez has been arrested and is serving five days for being a coconut candy addict. He has a major sweet tooth and nothing can be done about it; he has to snack on those candies five or six times a day.
Cesar said “They keep saying it was an ounce and a half of crack cocaine. I’m like, an ounce and a half of crack cocaine? It’s coco candy.”
This unbelievable story happened last Friday when he was leaving a bodega on Arthur Avenue and 180th in the Bronx. Some policemen from the 48th precinct asked him if they could go through his vehicle. “I even opened the door for him. I said if you wanna search, then search. It’s full of tools, we’re plumbers,” Rodriguez said.
But instead of taking tools out of the car they pulled out a sandwich bag filled with coconut candy. Rodriguez explained: “When he found it, he was like bingo! I’m like bingo? What do you mean bingo?" The policeman added, “Oh this is what y’all do. Y’all sell a lot of drugs, crack cocaine.” "They locked me up for candy. And they’re making it such a big deal. It had me worried. I was really stressed out…”
