Bingo Open to Everyone

Joanna Richardson is a blind bingo-lover. She really likes to visit the bingo hall, it’s her favorite hobby. Joanna is not like most other bingo players, as she is blind. To be able to play bingo in the halls, she must have a bingo card especially made for a visually handicapped person, This invention called an audible bingo card, which permits the player to hear the numbers called by the caller in a bingo game.

But as we all know bingo players appreciate a quiet environment to concentrate on daubing their cards and listen to the bingo caller calling the bingo balls. So a few players complained about the sound of the audible bingo cards, and Joanna has been asked to put on the silent mode or she won’t have the authorization to play any longer. This was a problem for her because the sound enabled her to follow the game.

So Joanna decided to file a complaint to the Racing and Wagering Board against this rule, and after some times her efforts have been rewarded, Joanna has obtained the right to use the cards with the sound on! The cards produce a beep when a bingo is won and make an alert sound when there is only one number to go. WD!

The board of Racing and Wagering doesn’t like the fact that the other players will be distracted with the noise, but they decide to allow the request because bingo welcomes all sorts of players and they shouldn’t deny  one person the right to enjoy a bingo game because of their disability. Also,  they want to encourage the participation of people with handicaps in social and recreational hobbies.
