Superstitions – Introduction

A magic window of our lives where fantasy reigns.

Imagine that you could manipulate fate, knowing the formula that could bring good luck into your life and to the people around you. Could you imagine having the knowledge to stand against misfortunes and bad luck? It is certainly an attractive and ambitious quality that many would like to have.

This can be an invaluable ally in games. Would you like to be able to control the spin of the dice to get the exact combination of numbers you want? Or be able to recognize the winning card within the deck of bingo cards, and reject the ones that destine to lose? You would only need one card to take home the juiciest jackpot!

To belief in fate is something that has accompanied man since his appearance on earth and along with this, the ancestral desire of controlling it. Every culture throughout history has developed various methods, in a magical attempt to manipulate or interpret this fate and so being able to change the future at their convenience. Examples of this are the horoscopes (astrology), reading hands (palmistry), and reading letters (Cartomancy) among others. All these disciplines are considered by the scientific community as superstitions.

Attracting good. Avoding evil.

Superstitions are designed to prevent misfortune, attract good luck and happiness and offer a defense or counter spell to free us from evil omens, in sight of a bad sign. So, over time, people have created a set of rules and prohibitions that should be respected if one doesn't want to fall in disfavor. These include: crossing their fingers to help something go the way we wish, or not to break a mirror to avoid bad luck, and also to put a horseshoe on the front door of our house, to bring good fortune.

Our goal is to gather all these beliefs, to venture on each of these supernatural manifestations, exploring its origins and understand the true reasoning behind what they are based on. And so we welcome you to our new fantastic series: Superstitions.

Pay close attention, because if you know exactly how a rabbit's foot or four leaf clover works, you can tilt fate in your favor, and play that one bingo game that would make you earn the biggest jackpot. It could well be written in your destiny!
