The Bingo World and us
Welcome to the second chapter of Bingo Community, a series of articles about several characters that are part of our bingo-community and interact with us, one way or another, every bingo night. The intention is to talk about ourselves in a fun, humorous way because after all laughter is the best medicine. There is a little bit of us in each bingo character. So let’s meet today's bingo guests who have a lot in common. Here they are:
The Bingo Veteran
Daubs her bingo cards smoothly, almost without looking. She is a master in the art of bingo and has played and won a lot of times throughout her years and years of playing. The veteran is a highly respected and popular person at the bingo hall. She has a designated bingo chair that everybody saves for her, since it has become her personal mark on the place. She always has a new interesting story to tell that includes some sort of lesson. She is always there to help young players and quite often assists them; the veteran loves to organize social activities and fundraisers for a good causes. She is a testament to all the different generations that have come to play at her bingo hall over the years. Bingo is a tradition and a very important part of her life; it’s the game she loves most.
The Bingo Gabber
Her philosophy is based on the fact that bingo is an excellent opportunity to socialize and hang out with friends. They tell each other absolutely everything that has being going on that week all the while flawlessly daubing their bingo cards. They laugh, comment, congratulate and give support to all bingo players at the hall. In fact, to the Bingo gabber, wining or losing a game is not important compared to the enjoyment of a bingo night with good friends. They consider this entertainment more spiritually valuable than winning a jackpot. However they are happy if they do win a jackpot of course! It's just that they see this interaction with others as a perk. That's why they take bingo night so seriously; it's a sacred activity that they enjoy every week. Everybody in the family knows this. Whatever day of the week, Saturday night Bingo or Sunday afternoon Bingo, it can't be changed or suspended. They meet new people every day. They usually become great friends of all the bingo hall crew and bring a fresh and delicious apple pie, a gift to the bingo caller, as a very special treat.
New bingo characters are waiting for us in the next edition of the Bingo Community. We want you to share your opinions with us! Let's chat about our favorite bingo personalities and come to new conclusions. Stay tuned!
