Bingo Caller Awards Cancelled

National Bingo Game Association decides to cancel the coveted bingo award this year.

In a disappointing decision made by The National Bingo Game Association, this year's Bingo Caller of the Year competition has been cancelled.

Due to changes in the UK bingo industry, the NBSA felt canceling the competition was necessary to cut costs and help maintain revenue, however, the decision came to much disappointment in the live bingo community.

With the departure of Gala Bingo from the national game, the number of callers who would able to take part in the competition was drastically reduced. So in order to allow time for the industry to recover from the blow, and to obtain a greater influx of stellar callers for the competition, the NBGA felt the cancellation was an unfortunate but necessary decision.

Now for the good news! The Bingo Caller of the Year competition will definitely be returning in 2009, as promised by the NBGA. They will also be opening up the competition to television callers for a more widespread appeal.

We imagine that last year's winner, Blake Robson (of South Shields Mecca), will be given quite a run for his money when a group of competitors, hungry after a two-year break, attempt to take the title for themselves. Game on!
