Cleaning woman hits the bingo windfall with a huge jackpot.
A 71-year-old cleaning woman struck it lucky when she won £101,224.00 playing bingo. At the Mecca Club in Breightmet Fold Lane, the cleaner's numbers came up and she has decided to split her winnings 50-50 with a friend who was on holiday at the time but usually plays with her every week.
The Breightmet woman won the national game prize of £100,000 plus the £1,155 regional prize, as well as the £69 house prize. Wow!
Completing a full house in just 39 numbers, the big winner picked up the £100,000 for the lowest call out of the 500 clubs nationwide.
"I sat there shaking when I realized I had won, and I shed a few tears. My partner couldn't speak when I told him."
The lucky winner has been playing bingo for years and has been a member of the Mecca Club since 1998.
Her friend (with whom she is splitting her win) was shocked by the win and the decision to share the big jackpot.
