Arson Suspected in Burning of Bingo LandmarkBlazing Bingo! Arson suspected in the burning of an old bingo hall in Cheshire.
 A famous old bingo landmark was on fire - La Scala bingo hall in Cheshire starting smoking and burning last week, and the fire is suspected to be a deliberate act. Sean Henshaw, watch manager, said it was likely that youths got into the building and set a small paper fire that spread to the rest of the big empty building.
Henshaw added, "Whomever lit this fire probably doesn't realize how much danger they are putting themselves and the firefighters in. I would urge them to think again next time."
The old bingo hall was waiting to be converted into luxury apartments and was empty at the time of the fire.
Makes you wonder whether some of these old bingo halls will ever really abide the non-smoking legislation...
